This stock may show repairs and signs of refinishing and rebuilding. Leather may be scuffed or may be torn. Wire stock may have replaced leather, and will have replaced brass rivets. This carbine will have Inland barreled receiver. None have the early flip sights, and late features will predominate. This carbine is still coated in grease or other preservative and will require a thorough cleaning. This carbine will have an IN bolt, IN slide, and an IN trigger housing. Other parts may be of different manufacturers. There is about 80 to 90 % of the parkerized finish remaining. The bore gauges at 1+, and will be free of any pitting. The barrel is Inland and the date is 44. The stock forearm is M2 Greek, and will be low wood. These rifles have been rebuilt, none of the parts will be original to the rifle. The barrel actions are standard service grade, same as CMP’s regular carbines, the only
original part of this rifle is the folding stock. The only marked metal part of the M1A1 stock is a “cast in” number on the inside of the butt plate.
